General Settings

Zan Image Printer is based on the Microsoft Universal Printer Driver (Unidrv) technology. Unidrv provides standard property sheet tabs such as the "Layout", "Paper/Quality" and "Advanced" tabs.

The Color setting on the Paper/Quality tab determines whether the output is in color or black and white.

The Black & White mode only lets you print to monochrome BMP, GIF, PDF, PNG and TIFF files, but it has the advantage of quickly saving the documents. The Color mode enables printing to monochrome, 256, grayscale and true color images, but at a slower printing speed.

Follow the steps below to modify the standard printer settings (such as paper size, DPI resolution/print quality, orientation, and color mode) for Zan Image Printer:

To change printer settings for individual documents from within a program locally:
1. Open the application (e.g., Notepad, Internet Explorer), select Print from the application's File menu.
2. Browse to Zan Image Printer and click on it.
3. Use the Layout tab, Paper/Quality tab, and the Advanced tab to set various options such as paper size, DPI, and color mode.

To change settings for a currently logged-in user globally:
1. Open the Printers folder (Start > Printers and Faxes), right click on the printer, and select Printing Preferences.
2. Use the Layout tab, Paper/Quality tab, and the Advanced tab to set various options such as paper size, DPI, and color mode.

To change settings for all users who connect to this printer:
1. Open the Printers folder (Start > Printers and Faxes), right click on the printer, and click Properties.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults, use the Layout tab, Paper/Quality tab, and the Advanced tab to set various options such as paper size, DPI, and color mode.
