Installation
To install Zan Image Printer on your computer, you must have administrator rights.

Step 1  Go to our website at http://www.zan1011.com and download the trial version from the download page. If you downloaded Zan Image Printer driver in ZIP file format from our website, first save it to your hard disk and then unzip it to a folder of your choice.
If you downloaded Zan Image Printer in exe file format, simply save it to your hard disk.

Step 2  Locate the exe file you just saved or unzipped, and double click on it to start the installer.
The setup will start and show the setup options dialog.

As shown above, Zan Image Printer allows you to create and maintain multiple virtual printers (up to 20 per installation). Each virtual printer can have its own settings independent of the other printers. We suggest that you give each printer a distinct name which will remind you of the settings.

By default, the setup installs two virtual printers on your machine; the printer "Zan Image Printer (Color)" defaults to Color mode, "Zan Image Printer (BW) "defaults to Black and White mode. Note another Black and White mode printer "Zan Image Printer (Fax) " is also included and can be selected during installation to create faxable TIFF images.
The Black and White mode only lets you print to monochrome BMP, GIF, PDF, PNG and TIFF files, but it has the advantage of quickly saving the documents. The Color mode enables printing to monochrome, 256, grayscale and true color images, but at a slower printing speed.

Installation Directory/Browse
Allows you to choose the folder where Zan Image Printer files will be installed. If you accepted the defaults, the installation directory is c:\Program Files\zvprt50.
The Browse button displays a standard Browse for Folder dialog box.

The printers list
The printers list displays a list of printers to be installed on your computer.
In this printers list, you can:
  • Select the printers to be installed.
  • Right click the printer name to display a context menu with Settings, Delete, and New options.
  • Double click the printer name to open a property sheet with 4 tabs (Printer, DPI, Paper Size, Color) to provide printer settings and feature selection.


    • New
    Click on this button to add a new printer to the printer list.

    Settings
    Click on this button to open a property sheet with 4 tabs (Printer, DPI, Paper Size, Color) to provide printer settings and feature selection.

    Delete
    There are two ways to remove a printer from the printer list:
    1. Click on the printer name and press the Delete button.
    2. Right click the printer name and select Delete from the context menu.

    Log File
    Specify the name of the log file. If you have problem installing Zan Image Printer, you can use this option to create a detailed log file to send us for examination.
    Choose the Browse button to browse and select a log file.

    After making changes, click the OK button. The installation finishes. After a few seconds, Zan Image Printer icon should appear in the Printers folder (one icon will appear for each printer you installed). You are now ready to use Zan Image Printer from your Windows applications.

    If you are unable to set up the printers on your computer, please try the following:
    1. Close all applications.
    2. Stop and restart the printer spooler by typing these commands in the command prompt window:
        net stop spooler
        net start spooler
    3. Run the setup program again to install.

    If the above fix still doesn't work, restart your Windows operating system, and then run the setup program again.
